FY 2024 Annual Action Plan and FY 2023 Annual Action Plan Amendment for the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG)
February 22, 2024 at 6:00pm
The City of Bowing Green will hold the first of two public hearings February 22, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Bowling Green City Council Chamber, 305 N. Main St., Bowling Green OH 43402. The purpose of the hearing is to solicit input related to unmet needs for the FY 2024 (9/1/24-8/31/25) Annual Action Plan. Prior year program performance data for the 2022 funding year will also be presented. It is estimated that the City of Bowling Green, an entitlement community, will receive approximately $305,363 for FY 2024 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for housing and non-housing community development activities. Amendments to the FY 2023 Plan will be presented.
All Community Development Block Grant activities address the housing, job and community needs of low-income citizens. Anticipated housing needs include owner-occupied housing repair and rental housing rehabilitation programming. Eligible non-housing community development needs include public facilities, public services, economic development, and public improvements.
Copies of the FY 2023 Annual Action and FY 2020-2024 Five-year Consolidated Plans are available by emailing, calling, or stopping by the Community Development Department. The FY 2023 Annual Action Plan is also available at the Community Development Office, 305 N. Main St., Bowling Green between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for a public comment and review period, which begins February 23, 2024. Written comments may be mailed or hand delivered to Martha Woelke, Community Development Administrator, City of Bowling Green, 305 N. Main St., Bowling Green, OH 43402 or Email Community Development. Comments are welcomed prior to the start of the review period, but all comments must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on March 25, 2024 to be considered.
Those individuals who are non-English speaking and require an interpreter should contact the City of Bowling Green Community Development office at least 72 hours prior to the public hearing at the phone or email noted above. Individuals with hearing or speech impairments needing special assistance should call the Ohio Relay Network at 1-800-750-0750 or 1-877-750-9097, respectively.
The City of Bowling Green holds all public meetings in accessible rooms. Special requests for accommodations should be submitted by individuals at least 72 hours before the scheduled meeting time.
Citizens of low- to moderate-income are especially encouraged to attend.
