Tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. is Friday

On Friday, January 13 at 1:30 pm, a tribute to Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be held at the Wood County District Public Library, 251 North Main Street.

This free event, sponsored by the City of Bowling Green Human Relations Commission, will feature keynote speaker Dr. Mary Ellen Mazey, President of Bowling Green State University.    Musical selections will be performed by Shades of Brown.

Also at the event, the Human Relations Commission will present the annual Drum Major for Peace Award, named in honor of Dr. King.  In a sermon, just months before his death, Dr. King described the positive use of the drum major instinct as guide for becoming a strong leader.

The event is open to the public.
